This vase is innovative in its design, yet pure in its form, incorporating elements of ancient China but with an overall modern look. Unsurprisingly, it was selected for the "Innovation Award at Maison&Objet 2022".
This version measures 20 cm wide and high. The material is high-end Chinese pottery, such as that used in traditional teapots, with a finish that ranges from a layer of bronze to black.
Element Accessories represents the fusion of European and Chinese expertise in design and production techniques. This series was designed by the talented Chinese designer SUNs, a Red Dot Award winner. The goal is to popularize a new, modern Chinese style with a fresh and unique identity, "from made in China to designed in China."
The OTARU series combines Song Dynasty traditions (small bronze legs) with modern minimalism; high-temperature production technique; resistant clay; and a mineral glaze with natural ore, skillfully fired in a kiln (1360°C), to achieve a natural look and feel of bronze fading to black.
One year of R&D with experts was required to achieve this result.
